Redesigned NordVPN apps for iOS and macOS are available now!

Our team has been on a mission “Make the app UX go WOW” for a while. As we want our users to have smooth and hassle-free NordVPN experience, rethinking our app navigation from the ground up felt like the right thing to do. Tweak after tweak, and today we’re more than excited to introduce the redesigned NordVPN apps for iOS and macOS! This a major design update, so let’s take a closer look.

NordVPN app for iOS goes 4.0. What’s inside?

Once you open the updated app, the view and navigation you will see is likely to remind you of a deck of cards. We organized our app this way to make it more thumb-friendly and clear for finding what you’re looking for.

Swipe up to browse servers

What can you do with a simple swipe-up? Great things, great things… From now on, by swiping up in the main map screen you’ll get one-tap access to:

• Servers by country
• Specialty servers
• Search
• Your favorites’ list

Country servers in detail

If you tap on a country pin in the map, it will open the Country card that will let you quick-connect to the best recommended server in that location and see the full server list.

So that was all about mobile – but we’re not leaving our macOS app aside. In fact, far from that. Check out the usability tweaks and design improvements we rolled out to make your NordVPN experience even better.

New sidebar for quick access to servers

No extra clicks are needed to browse servers by country or access the specialty ones, as they will always conveniently sit in a toolbar on the left side. Also, the bottom of the new sidebar is where you should look for Settings and Help.

Search – right here, right now

Forget the popup – the search field now sticks on the title bar (at the top of the window), and the search results are displayed in a drop-down list immediately as you type.

Connect to VPN with a single click

It takes only a single click or tap to go truly private online – hit Quick Connect, and the app will connect you to the best server for you.

Never expose your sensitive data

Enable the Kill Switch feature and keep calm – the app will disconnect from the Internet in case the VPN connection drops. This way, your sensitive data won’t be exposed – not even for a brief moment.

Browse securely on Wi-Fi

Public Wi-Fi networks are extremely unsafe as cybercriminals can easily intercept your Internet connection to snoop on what you do online and steal your personal data. The good thing is, you can still enjoy free Wi-Fi without compromising your privacy – connect to NordVPN and get your online data protected with military-grade encryption.
